I opened The Little Red Owl in September 2012 after starting my blog (TheLittleRedOwl.com) in November 2011.

I feel passionate about home decor, design, frugality, and thrift store finds. I love having unique, one of a kind items and furniture in my home. I believe this gives me a home that is all my own AND I believe YOU can achieve that as well. A home and one's surroundings can directly effect mood and I want yours to be positive-I want you to love your home!

I opened this shop as a way to share my philosophy with the world and hopefully save some people from boring big box decor.

I work out of my home in Northern Kentucky, located close to the Ohio River. My craft room is my workshop, shipping station, photography studio, and warehouse. Although my craft room serves many functions, it is extremely organized and works for my small business.

I use high quality primers, paints, and stains on my upcycled furniture and I do my best to ensure lasting quality on all pieces.

My vintage finds are items I am drawn to immediately. I go with my gut and only sell items and furniture that I would buy for my own home (sometimes making it difficult to part with the goods I find :)).

My husband helps with the heavy lifting and shipping runs for my shop and is always there for moral support.

One thing I strive for is excellent customer service. My day job involves a large amount of customer service and I know how important it is to treat your customer's properly-like you would family.

I have been so inspired by my family. My parents and grandparents have unique items and furniture all over their home. Their belief is that anything you own should be taken care of to the best of your ability-no matter if it is old, new, a hand me down or a find.

I also believe that reusing items and upcycling furniture is good for the earth-it cuts down on new items being manufactured and makes us appreciate what we have.
